A Few Methods to Remove Blackheads and Whiteheads

We all tend to get blackheads and whiteheads. They are non-inflammatory types of acne which are also known as microcomedones. Whiteheads form underneath your skin surface due to a blocked pore which contains bacteria and sebum. Blackheads on the other hand are partially blocked pores which contains oxidises bacteria and sebum. Naturally we try to squeeze them by our hand to get rid of them. But this could lead to infection and can also cause severe acne conditions. This can cause more damage to the facial skin.

The well known methods to remove blackheads are by using a blackhead extractor or a blackhead removal strip. If you are using the extractor you will have to gently press it around the skin of the blackhead, which will then be extracted. Remember to sterilise the extractor before using it on your skin to prevent bacteria being spread. Mature whiteheads also can be removed using these extractors. You just need to roll the loop over the whitehead. Black head removal strips are a type of adhesive tape. You have to apply it on the area of the blackheads and pull it out to remove the blackhead.

To remove whiteheads you do not necessarily need to use tools. When they get mature they are ready to explode. You can use a cloth soaked in warm water to gently wipe the area. This will assist you to remove the whitehead. At times this would not work but it would prepare the whitehead for easy extraction and you can gently squeeze it using a cotton pad.

However if you have a severe condition of blackheads or whiteheads it is advisable that you consult a dermatologist or a cosmetic physician. There are two methods that they use to remove blackheads and whiteheads from your face. Namely it would be Chemical Peels and Microdermabrasion. Chemical Peels would help remove the upper layer of the skin which in return would assist the easy removal of blackheads and whiteheads. Microdermabrasion uses a treatment procedure which buffs and smoothes your facial skin through crystals. This treatment would remove unblock the clogged pores and would clear up your face.

Apart from the above methods to reduce and prevent your face from getting blackheads and whiteheads there are few skin care products that can be used daily. A cleanser containing Viatmin A or Alpha Hydroxy acid could be used on your face twice a day, which would encourage cell turnover. It can prevent oil or dead skin to clog in the pores. Once you have cleansed your face you should apply a non-alcohol-based toner using a cotton pad. It will help your skin to restore the pH balance.

You can also use Benzoyl Peroxide spot treatment on the blackheads or whiteheads. But make sure you use the appropriate percentage as it comes in different strengths to match different skin types. This will peel your pore making it easier to extract blackheads or whiteheads. Applying a daily sunscreen can also reduce enlarging your facial pores. This will prevent you from getting microcomedones on your face.
